American River Orff-Shulwerk Association
We are the Sacramento Chapter of AOSA or American Orff Schulwerk Association.
We are Music, Dance, and Elementary teachers that follow the philosophy of the composer Carl Orff.
We teach students through activity, games, and play first leading them to structure and music notation as they grow in age and experience, parallel to how music changed from tribal to western notation.
AROSA is founded on a love of learning through play. We teach through meaningful authentic materials, recognizing a variety of cultures, and inspiring children to add their vision and be their own composers. Beyond teaching music we value the building of community and a sense of belonging in our children.
